Institute Board

The Institute Board consists of the Dean of the Institute as the chairman of the board and the membership of:

1- The institute’s Vice-Dean. Member

2 - Two heads of departments at the Institute is appointed by the Minister of Higher Education annually and periodically. Two members

3- A representative of the teachers' union is appointed by the executive office of the union among the faculty members of the institute. Member

4- A representative of the National Union of Syrian Students is appointed by the Executive Office of the Union among the students of the Institute. Member

5. A representative from the Ministries of: (Higher Education, Finance, Industry and Administrative Development) and the Planning and International Cooperation Commission. Members

6 - Two representatives of the main working actors in the fields of industry and trade is appointed by the Minister on the proposal of the President of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry. Two members

Functions of the Institute Board

The Board exercises all the functions exercised by the University Board provided in the Law of Organizing Universities No. (1) of 1975 and its executive regulations issued by Decree No. (2059) of 1982 and their amendments. In addition to the following tasks:

A) Determine fees for the study annually at the level of various academic degrees granted by the Institute.

B) Approving the number of accepted students annually and the special conditions for their acceptance at the level of the various academic degrees granted by the Institute.

C) Approving training programs, admission requirements and determine their registration fees annually.

D) Approval of hiring visiting professors for a period not exceeding six months.

E) Approval of the study plan for all levels of teaching at the Institute.

F) Approving educational policies and general policy for scientific research and approving their executive plans.

G) Approving the dispatch of students, faculty members and staff at the Institute.

H) Proposing cooperation with universities, institutes and scientific research institutions at local, Arab and foreign levels, and its methods and fields.

I) Consider and take decisions on the issues related to the Institute, its students and its employees in all categories which relevant committees and councils referred to it.
